Latitude 39 Express is a Salesforce native application and is implemented as a Salesforce Managed Package. Express is installed into your existing Salesforce instance and your Salesforce security, access and objects permissions, apply to Express.
Express needs to be installed by someone with the permissions in Salesforce to do so. This is generally someone with Salesforce Administrator privileges.
During the initial install of Express a few questions are asked that need to be answered. We will walk through these now. Note that the URL below with <00000000000> is illustrative only. Customer Support will provide you with the then current actual URL to use.
- Login to Salesforce with System Administrator credentials
- Paste the installation package link in the browser URL: https://login.salesforce.com/packaging/installPackage.apexp?<00000000000>
- You will be prompted to enter the installation package password
- Select the option that best describes your installation permissions and distribution
- Select the Acknowledge Agreement checkbox
- Click Install
- Approve Third-Party Access and click Continue
- Installation process will start
- Since the Installation process takes some time, you will be prompted to close this window and wait for a confirmation email
- Once the installation is completed, you can head to Settings >> Apps >> Packaging>> Installed Packages to verify the package is installed.
That's it! At this point the application is installed and available for the users of your Salesforce org.
