Adding Fields onto Deals
To add a field to Express, you will need to do the following steps:
- Go to Setup > Define Deal Attribute
- Select the mapping you would like to add the field
- Click "Add Row"
- Once the row loads, the first column is the field type. If it is "Expected Amount" and in SFDC that is set to "Currency", you would select "Currency" from the drop-down.
NOTE: Each time you select a type in column 1, only those fields with the corresponding data type in SFDC will show.
- In column 2 select the field name (i.e. Expected Amount)
NOTE: If your mapping starts on a child object and looks up to a parent object, you will need to click "Lookup Field" > then the parent object (i.e. Opportunity > Expected Amount)
- In column 3, give the field an Express name. This does not have to be the same as the SFDC name. If you have a decimal field that is called "Expected Amount" in SFDC, but you want to change it to "End Balance" in Express, you would make that change in column 3.
NOTE: It is recommended to add the Express Field Name first under Setup > Define Deal Attribute > View All Fields. There is a limit to the number of fields that can be added into Express: Number of Fields within Express
- Click the green checkmark > floppy disk to save
- In order to correct all deals in the current period to now show that new field, you will need to re-import all deals by going to Results > Import Data > Import Deals.
NOTE: Confirm "If duplicate, update" is selected in the second section to have the field properly updated. This will only update deals in the current and future periods. Past periods or closed periods will not be touched.
