Adding a Formula Type Field into a Salesforce Mapping
You can add a formula field into the Express mapping. This field is not found in Salesforce. This field produces a value from currency or number (decimal) fields previously added to the mapping. This is only for Salesforce deal mappings.
- Go to Setup > Define Deal Attribute
- Select the mapping you use for the reps plan
- Click "Add Row"
Column 1: Currency
Column 2: in the drop down menu select "Formula" > enter in the fields you are wanting to use in the formula and the math symbols needed
NOTE: You can only use the currency or number fields already added into the same mapping. If you have a number field in a different mapping, it cannot be used.
In other words, if your formula is MRR * .09 you will need to first create the MRR field in the mapping and save (i.e. click the floppy disk icon). Then go back and add the formula field that uses MRR * .09.
Column 3: select the pencil icon name the new field
NOTE: If you are unsure of the number of Data Type fields*, and believe you are close to hitting the limit, create the Express Field Name first under "View All Fields".
-
Save > click the floppy disk icon to save the entire mapping
*NOTE: Under Deal Attributes fields there is a fixed number of fields you can add within Express:
Currency: 10 custom “Currency” fields
Date: 6 (5 custom “Date” fields, 1 Standard "DealDate")
Decimal: 10 custom “Number” fields
User: 5 (4 custom “Profile” fields, 1 standard "Salesperson")
Text: 26 (25 custom “String” fields, 1 Standard "Deal Id")
Checkbox: 5 custom checkbox fields (listed as “Boolean”)
