Deleting Deals in Salesforce using Dataloader.io
To delete deals in Salesforce using dataloader.io :
- In Salesforce go to Reports > New Report
- Search for the object the deals are on > Create
NOTE: Professional Services often times create a custom object if the dataloader.io is being used. Create the report from that custom object.
- Once in the report, under the "Show " header change the drop-down menu option from "My deals" to "All deals"
- In the detail section of the report, add the record Id field by searching for it on the left side of the screen > double click on the field to add it to the report
- Remove all other fields by dragging the field to the left search bar
- In the "Date Field " section, change the first drop-down menu to be the deal date field
- Change the date range to be the current period
- Click "Run Report"
- Export the report into a CSV file
- Go to dataloader.io
- In the upper left corner click "New Task" > Delete
- Search for the object you pulled the report from > Next > Upload CSV
This will delete the deals in Salesforce. To confirm it is working, go back into Salesforce and try running that same report. If no deals show then the deals are deleted. This video also helps explain it as well: https://dataloader.io/deleting-data-salesforce
