Cloning a Deal under Manage Deals
Admins will have the option to clone past, current, and future deals in Express via the Manage Deals tab.
NOTE: You can only clone one deal at a time from the Manage Deals tab.
To clone a deal:
- Go to Results > Manage Deals
- Click the double squares with the arrow icon on the specific deal you would like to clone:
- A pop-up window will appear, with the cloned information filled in, minus the Salesperson field.
- Enter in the unique Deal Id
- This new deal you will have to change the Deal Id. Deal Id always has to be unique. If you do not expect this new deal to be associated to any deals/opportunities in Salesforce, it is recommended to add a _1. For example, 006o000000JbD8z is the original Deal Id, but 006o000000JbD8z_1 is the new, unique Deal Id.
NOTE: Creating this custom Id ensure this deal will only be available in Express and not in Salesforce.
- If you are looking to have the deal link to a Salesforce Id, you will need to copy the unique Id from Salesforce (oftentimes found in the URL) and paste it in the Deal Id field. This Salesforce Id cannot have been used as the Deal Id in any previous deal.
NOTE: Deal Id may not be the only unique Id. To confirm the unique Ids needed go to Setup > Define Deal Attributes > search for the mapping the deal should have imported with > review all fields with the checkmark "Unique Id".
