How to Clone a Plan for a New Year
Already in the new fiscal year:
If you go to Results > Run Calculations and the option to "Run All Steps" is grayed out, this means you have not moved your plans from one fiscal period to the next.
Plans function only within a fiscal year. They can be as short as one period or as long as 12 periods, but all within the same fiscal year.
To clone over plans from one fiscal year to the next when you are already in the new fiscal year you will want to:
- Go to Plans > Edit Plan > Overview
- In the plan drop-down Viewing Plans for Fiscal Year > select your previous year > then select the plan you would like to clone.
- When under the "Define Plan" section click "Save As" to clone the plan.
- Fill in the pop-up window to copy the plan from one fiscal year to the next.
Still in the previous fiscal year:
- In Express. navigate to the plan you wish to clone: Plans > Edit Plan > 1. Define Plan
- When you are in the '1. Define Plan' page of the plan you wish to clone, click the "Save As" button in the left navigation panel
- In the Save As Plan pop-up window, enter a name for your cloned plan and set its plan effective dates.
- Click Save/Close
What happens to the past period holds?
When your deal is held (see Hold and Release Breakdown ), that deal is locked in the period it is calculated on. So if you have a deal in the January FY2021 period and it is calculated at 5%, once you Close a Period that deal is locked in at 5%. It will pay out 5% even in FY2050 if the hold still remains.
With that in mind, you do NOT need to roll over your previous fiscal year plans into the new fiscal year to keep the holds in Express. The holds will remain and remain in Express (showing up in the Manage Results: Payments Tab ) until they are Released .
