Credit and Payment using Two Different Fields for Attainment and Payment
If you want the credit attainment to be based on Revenue, for example, and the payment based on GP, but the prorate hold is based on GP, then you need to do the following because the prorate holds are based on the sum value in section E of the credit rule, and not the split percentage value:
- In section E of the credit rule, make the "Sum Value" equal to GP
- Then check the box for the split percentage. The value on the left column is still GP, but under the default formula, make it say:
- Data Field - Revenue
- Data Field - GP
Advance Formula: A / B
- Separately, in the mapping, you will want to set up a second GP. It will be the same field mapped to the current GP, but on every deal, you will bring the field in twice. You will need to name this something different to not cause a duplicate error. For this example, we can say that the credit GP is just "GP", but the payment override we can call "GP Override".
- Once you add the field into the mapping, you will need to re-import the deals to update them in Express. Both fields on the deal will have the same value.
- In the payment rule, click the fx button and change the override option from "GP" to "GP Override".
This way the credit is based on Revenue since the full credit formula is (Revenue / GP) * GP. Then in the payment rule, is based off the original amount.
Credit Rule (due to the split percentage): based off (Revenue / GP) * GP = Revenue
Payment Rule Attainment Tiers: based off (Revenue / GP) * GP = Revenue
Payment: based off GP
Prorate Credit Amount: based on sum value which is GP
