Adding Split Percentage to Credit Rule
A split is used to create a rule that divides and/or multiplies the credited amount for a deal between reps based on predefined criteria. The split rule will split not only the credit, but also the payment which rolls up to the credit. Split Credits can be located here: Plans > Edit Plans > Define Credits > Step E. Clicking on the Edit button will bring you to the Define Split Percentage Criteria window.
- Go to the plan and the credit rule > in Section E check off "Apply split percentages"
- Click "Edit Rule" > if it is not already added, click "Add Qualifier"
- In the drop-down menu under Qualifier #1 click "<<Add Rule>>"
- Add the qualifier. For example: "Non Direct Sales" > Save/Close
- In the percentage box enter in the amount you would like to split it by, For example, 50%
NOTE: If there are reps on the plan who should NOT get split credit, do not do step 5.
In the percentage box enter in "0.00%"
- In the drop-down menu "Person" where it says "Everyone on Plan" click the reps who SHOULD get the split credit names
- Check the box, this is the override option
- Enter in the split amount. This means that only these specific reps will get the split percentage all other reps get 0.00 under that qualifier or 100% on all other deals that are not mentioned in the qualifier.
Qualifiers are the custom components of rules that allow the Express user to define and set multiple variables for how sales teams or individual reps get credited on deals. Qualifiers act as an extra set of filtering added to a rule's logic which will 'qualify' what should or should not be paid out.
