Setting up Quotas with Multi-Currencies
Quotas are not considered a currency field in Express. Instead, it is a numeric value that is dependent on the user it is being associated with.
Example:
| Plan | User |
Local Currency (based on user's locale in Salesforce) |
Quota |
| Account Executives | Jackson Avery | EUR | 1,000,000.00 |
| Account Executives | Tom Downing | USD | 1,000,000.00 |
Monthly Attainment:
| Deal Id | Opportunity Name | Amount |
| 12345A | Sale 1 | 52,312 |
| 12345B | Sale 2 | 71,544 |
| 12345C | Sale 3 | 63,243 |
| 12345D | Sale 4 | 23,524 |
| 12345E | Sale 5 | 32,455 |
| 12345F | Sale 6 | 28,653 |
| 12345G | Sale 7 | 94,354 |
If both reps get credit on all deals, their attainment/quota would be:
| User | Currency | Quota |
Exchange Rate (if company currency is USD, USD represents the base: 1) |
Attainment | % to Quota |
| Jackson Avery | EUR | 1,000,000.00 | 1.5 | 549,127.50 | 54.91% |
| Tom Downing | USD | 1,000,000.00 | 1 | 366,085.00 | 36.61% |
Quota and Rate based on Locale:
If you would like the Quotas and rates to be based on the user's locale, will need to do the following:
Update the quota to be the amount after the exchange rate is applied: Under Plan > Edit Plan > Define Quota, to be the Quota * Exchange Rate amount.
For our example, instead of entering in 1,000,000.00 for Jackson Avery, you would enter in 1,500,000.00, which is Quota * Exchange Rate or 1,000,000.00 * 1.5
Quota Based on Company Currency, Rate Based on Locale:
If you would like the Quotas to go against the currency for each rep you have two options:
-
Update the quota to be the amount after the exchange rate is applied: Under Plan > Edit Plan > Define Quota, to be the Quota * Exchange Rate amount.
For our example, instead of entering in 1,000,000.00 for Jackson Avery, you would enter in 1,500,000.00:
Quota Exchange Rate 1,000,000.00 1.5 -
Create a rate formula using a fixed field with the exchange rate: Leave the Quota in the company currency (in our example, the company is based in USD) and instead update the formula in section F of the payment rule to be:
TIC / (Quota * Exchange Rate)
"Exchange Rate" can be determined in a few ways.
- "Hard code" a numeric value into the plan. This means inserting a number that will remain the same for all periods. This is done under Plans > Edit Plans > Define Plan > section C scroll over to the Attribute 1 - 5 field. You can rename the fields Setup: Manage Terminology
- Enter in the value in the formula under section F of the payment rule > click the fx button and enter the formula as:
- System Value: TIC
- Quota - Annual
- Numeric Value: 1.5
Advance Formula: A / (B * C)
- Import a field from Salesforce or CSV upload with the Exchange Rate. This would allow admins to have the rate fluctuate throughout the year. It will be a new field that is imported into Express and then used in the formula. See Adding Fields onto Deals in Express for more details.
- System Value: TIC
- Quota - Annual
- Data Field: Exchange Rate
Advance Formula: A / (B * C)
