How to Schedule Imports

This is a comprehensive guide on scheduling opportunity imports into Xactly Express.

Add the XCImportSource tab:

1. Navigate to Your Name > Setup > Create > Tabs
2. Click the 'New' button in the Custom Object Tabs section
3. From the Object drop-down, select 'XCImportSource' and select and Tab Style, click Next
4. Select Tab Hidden from the drop-down, select the 'Apply a different tab visibility for each profile' radio button, and set the System Administrator drop-down to 'Default Off', click Next
5. Select which areas you would like to include the tab, click Save

The XCImportSource tab has now been added to your layout

Select the Scheduler Class:

1. Open XCImportSource
2. Click the 'Go' button and click the Name of the mapping you would like to schedule the import for

   

3. Hover over the field for 'Scheduler Class' and double click the pencil icon, click the drop-down and select one of the available Schedulers, click Save 

   

You have now assigned your import mapping to a Scheduler Class

Schedule the Import to Run:

1. Navigate to Your Name > Setup, on the sidebar navigate to Develop > Apex Classes
2. Click the button that says 'Schedule Apex'
3. Fill out a name in the 'Job Name' textbox
4. Click the magnifying glass icon next to 'Apex Class' and a new popup will appear

   

5. In the popup, select the Apex Class that you had assigned to your mapping

   

6. Select the days in which you would like the scheduled import to occur on
7. Select the effective dates of the schedules import by filling in the Start and End dates
8. Select the Preferred Start Time of the import from the drop-down

   NOTE: If you already have Scheduled Calculations set up, make sure that the Scheduled import is set to run prior to the Calculations

9. Click Save
