Access to Reports, but not Xactly Express Tab
This article covers how to give access to Reporting Details, without the users having access to the Xactly Express tab. Typically, this is used when a company's VP or CEO does not want to see the app itself, but would like to get reporting details.
What is available to view on Salesforce Reports is based on the Salesforce Role Hierarchy. Removing access from the Xactly Express Tab will not allow the user to see the Express Dashboard.
Please review Giving Users Access to Dashboards/Reports for details on what a user can see on a report.
- Go to Salesforce > Administer > Manage Users > Profiles
- Select the profile they are on > click "Clone" > Rename the profile > Save
- Click "Edit" to review the profile details > give them access to reports
- Go to Build > Customize > User Interface (non-bolded text under Customize at the very bottom of the page)
- Setup > unselect "Enable Enhanced Profile User Interface" > Save > go back to the profile and click "Edit"
NOTE: To make it easier to view the profile, you can temporarily change the profile layout - Make sure they have read-only access to all "XC" objects under Custom Object Permissions (this is the first column) > Save
- Go back to the user > Administer > Manage Users > User > select user
- Under "Permission Set Assignments" click on the hyperlink for that user's assignment
- Click "Clone" > Save
- Under Apps click on Visualforce Page Access > Edit
- Remove "XactlyExpress.XactlySMBHome" from the right box (Enabled) to the left (Available)
