Setup: Other Settings tab
You can use the Other Settings area to specify a range of configuration options including the initial period, manager privileges, and Salesforce administrator access, among others.
A: Initial Period: This is the first Period for which commissions are to be processed. Choose a period and fiscal year based on the periods and years that you have configured in Salesforce.
By default, the system adopts the current period. However, you can change this setting if you need to load and process historical data. In this case, the value you set should be the earliest period for which you want to load data.
NOTE: This option is locked after calculations are run. If you need to change the initial period after calculations have been run, you must delete the results. For more information, contact Express Support.
B: Manager Privileges: This allows the managers to make changes, add, and/or remove deal credits through their dashboards.
- No, do not allow managers to add/edit deals: This does not allow managers to make any changes to the existing deals in Express.
- Yes, I would like managers to add/edit deals: This allows managers to make changes to the existing deals in Express. This will impact their own attainment and payments as well as the Sales Representatives.
NOTE: Enabling this option allows managers to have full access to the Manage Deals area (as opposed to read-only access).
C: Salesforce Administrator Access: Salesforce System Administrators can access the Express application as long as they have a license for the program. When Express is initially installed, any Salesforce administrator can access the application. However, after you have mapped the first Sales Administrator within Express, you have the option to lock out all other Salesforce Administrators from Express.
- No, do not allow Salesforce administrators access: This does not allow System Administrators into Express without being assigned a role in Manage Users, even if they have a license for Express.
- Yes, do not allow Salesforce administrators access, even without a role (they still need a license): This allows System Administrators to access Express. They will need to provide themselves with a license even if they do not have a role assigned to them in Manage Users.
D : Company Logo: Add your company logo to the Express application so that it shows in the Rep Dashboard and exportable Export Plan Documents
E: Email Notifications: This will send out an email to the Sales Administrators in the Express application on when imports and calculations have been completed.
- No, leave the feature on. I want to receive e-mails: This will send out emails when imports and calculations are completed.
- Yes, turn the feature off. I do not need to be notified via e-mail when a process completes: This does not send out the emails when the import and calculations are completed.
F: Period to show at Dashboard: You can specify that Express shows the current and future period, always show the current period or always show the latest finalized period. For more details, see What Periods Show on Manager and Rep Dashboards.
G: Multi-Currency: Express uses the conversion tables and currency identifiers activated within Salesforce. If you enabled multi-currency support, specify whether to convert results to a single company currency or to use each person’s local currency.
Also, specify whether to use advanced currency management. This allows you to manage dated exchange rates that map a currency conversion rate to a specific date range.
- See Before turning on Multi-Currency in Salesforce and Turning on Multi-Currency in Express guides to go over best practices before turning this option on. If it is not turned on, the option will not appear in Other Settings.
H: Conversion Type: This allows you to select the two different multi-currency options.
This will only appear if section G is turned on.
-
Single Company Currency: deals will be converted to the company currency, quotas must be entered in the company currency, and payments will be calculated in the company currency. Express will reference the company currency in Salesforce
- Salesforce > Setup > Administration Setup > Company Profile > Manage Currencies > Manage Currencies
-
Persons Local Currency: deals will be converted to the person's local currency, quotas must be entered in the person's local currency, and payments will be calculated in the person’s local currency. Express will reference the currency on the user record in Salesforce to determine the rep’s local currency.
- Salesforce > Setup > Administration Setup > Manage Users > Users > select user > “Locale”
I: Advanced Currency Management: This allows you to convert currencies using Dated Exchange Rate in Salesforce based on the Deal Date in Express. When a deal is imported, Express will find the exchange rate on the Deal Date in Salesforce and convert the currency fields on the deal.
This is only available when section G is turned on.
- Salesforce > Setup > Administration Setup > Company Profile > Manage Currencies > Manage Dated Exchange Rates
J: Hold and Release w/ Apply Highest Rate: Select whether to allow for previously released holds to be released if a higher rate is applied to the released holds at a later date.
This is applicable if you are using Apply the Highest Rate rate as part of your payment rule while also using holds and releases. In this case, you can select whether or not to enable the auto-release of previously released holds.
- Enable Auto-Release of Previously Released Holds: This will release the hold at the higher rate and not the original rate.
- Do NOT Enable the Auto-Release of Previously Released Holds: This will release the hold at the original rate.
K: Bulk Export: Since the XCPayoutDetails object is how the Commission Statements are produced, there is a separate option for exporting the statements. If XCPayoutDetails is showing no results, but all other reports are, this is due to the Bulk Export option within Express being turned off.
If this option is turned off the Commission Statements still work, but the Commission Statement itself is not created until the user downloads it. If it is turned on it is created and stored in the Attachment object at the time of calculations (Step 3) being run.
- Yes, turn on this feature: We recommend keeping this feature on so that the XCPayoutDetails can produce information from the commission statements.
- No, leave feature off: If this feature is turned off, you will not be able to utilize the XCPayoutDetails report in Salesforce.
NOTE: If in period 4 and bulk export is newly turned on periods 1 - 3 will not appear in the report. In order to show all periods, you will have to roll back to period 1 and re-run calculations. The report will be updated after Step 3 is completed.
L: Hide draw information from Sales Representative Dashboard: If your company does not utilize draws, you have the option of hiding this information from the rep's Dashboard. The information will still show on the Commission Statements.
- Yes, hide if zero: This will hide draw information if the draw is zero.
- No, always show: This will be visible all the time regardless of the amount.
M: Enable/Disable Chatter: This allows Chatter to be enabled or disabled in Express.
