Turning on Multi-Currency
Xactly Express supports multi-currency by leveraging the currency exchange rates set up in Salesforce. This means you must input/update the exchange rates in Salesforce to use multi-currency in Express.
- To enable multi-currency, navigate to Setup > Other Settings > in section G click the toggle “Yes, turn on multi-currency” > click the floppy disk icon to save.
- Once you turn on multi-currency, you cannot turn it off.
- In order to have this toggle appear, calculations cannot have run in the current period. It is recommended to turn on multi-currency at the beginning of a fiscal year to prevent YTD numbers from appearing incorrectly in Express.
- Once this option has been saved, section H will appear. This allows you to select the two different multi-currency options.
- Single Company Currency: deals will be converted to the company currency, quotas must be entered in the company currency, and payments will be calculated in the company currency. Express will reference the company currency in Salesforce
- Salesforce > Setup > Administration Setup > Company Profile > Manage Currencies > Manage Currencies
NOTE: If Single Currency is turned on, the CurrencyISOCode is going to always be the company code. When it comes to reporting, only the company currency will show on the deals and not the original Opportunity currency.
- Salesforce > Setup > Administration Setup > Company Profile > Manage Currencies > Manage Currencies
- Persons Local Currency: deals will be converted to the person's local currency, quotas must be entered in the person's local currency, and payments will be calculated in the person’s local currency. Express will reference the currency on the user record in Salesforce to determine the rep’s local currency.
-
Salesforce > Setup > Administration Setup > Manage Users > Users > select user > “Locale”

Next you can also decide to have advanced currency management enabled in Salesforce. This can also be turned on in Express > Setup > Other Settings > section I
- Advanced Currency Management: this allows you to convert currencies using the dated exchange rates in Salesforce based on the Deal Date in Express. Upon deal import, Express will find the exchange rate on the Deal Date in Salesforce and convert the currency fields on the deal.

Additionally, for those cases where all currencies in Express are consistent, but you want to convert the final payment for the rep into a different currency, this is not a standard Express configuration. That being said, the payment rules can be updated to multiply the end result by a factor. Quotas have been used to hold the conversion factor so that conversion rates can be uploaded and the formulas do not need to be edited. The currency will still display as the company currency.
