Importing Deals via CSV
You can import deals directly into Express instead of using Salesforce. To release through a CSV:
- Go to Results > Import Data > click CSV
- Change dropdown to External CSV File (Deals)
- Export a template
- Paste the needed details into the file. The fields and the order of those fields are dependant on what is set up under "External CSV" when an Admin goes to Setup > Define Deal Attributes > External CSV:
- If Multi-Currency is Turned ON then you will be prompted to add "Currency Code"
- Each line item created will create a deal. If the combination of unique Ids (oftentimes just the Deal Id, but can also include any other fields checked off under Setup > Define Deal Attributes > View All Fields as unique) are different, a new deal is created. If they are the same, the system will copy over the existing deal.
In other words, Express is designed to Upsert the information. - All required fields need to be filled out in order to upload.
- Any UserType fields on CSVs look for the username setup in Salesforce under Salesforce > Setup > Manage Users > Users > select a user > Username.
NOTE: A common error with CSV files is the BLOB Error.
- Save as a CSV file.
- Go to Express > Results > Import Data > click CSV
- Click "Choose File" > Import Deals
NOTE: click "file contains header", if applicable. - Once the rows have finished loading, go to Results > Run Calculations > Run All Steps
