Long Descriptions in String or Text Fields in CSV Files

If you would like a long description within the CSV file, there is a certain way to type this in the box. If not, then it will throw an error that will say that it is not a CSV file.

If a CSV file has a long description or text, then you will need to double-check to make sure there are no line breaks in the text. What that means is that it cannot be a wrapped text but instead a long, single line item.

For example, if one of the line items in Excel shows this in the column:

"ABC123 Description:

-Sales Revenue for Period 2

-Only effective for this current period

-Needs to be verified by the customer beforehand"

You will need to correct it to look like this instead:

"ABC123 Description: -Sales Revenue for Period 2 -Only effective for this current period -Needs to be verified by the customer beforehand"
