Capped Payment

It is recommended to work with Professional Services before making any major plan building changes as they are the experts when it comes to Xactly configuration. Professional Services is a billable expense. Xactly Support will not build or test out any plan configuration. 

If you want the rep to be capped per deal, in other words, for every deal the rep cannot get more than $5000 towards payment, you will need to use the criteria in a credit rule to prevent them from getting an additional payout. This would only be if they still get quota credit, but their payment will only get paid out up until $5000.

Let's say you have a $7,000 deal. In section E of the credit, the rule would be the Amount field, but you would need to have a separate field called Commissionable Amount, for example. The Amount field and Commissionable Amount field would both be $7,000. Under section E, the value would be Amount, but in the split percentage rule, it would be looking against Commissionable Amount.

The formula would be:

1. Numeric Value: 5000
2. Data Field: Commissionable Amount

Advance Formula (A / B)

This whole formula would be then times Commissionable Amount which will cancel each out so the remaining amount for Commissionable Amount if 5000.

Then in the payment rule, you would have an override that says:

1. Percent Value: 10%

Override selected: Commissionable Amount

The formula will now ignore the Amount field the rep gets the quota credit rule, but multiply the flat rate by the 5000 Commissionable Amount.

NOTE: This type of cap can only be done for flat rate payment rules. The cap cannot be performed at the payment level, but will have to be done at the credit level instead.

ALTERNATIVELY:

Below are the details of how to set up a credit rule with a cap on each deal of 50k.

1. In section E of the credit, rule click the "Apply Split Percentage" option > Edit Rule
2. Click on the fx button on qualifier #1

The formula would be

1. Numeric Value: 50,000
2. Data Field: Amount

Advance Formula: (A / B)

1. Save/Close
2. Click "Add Rule" under the qualifier drop-down menu for qualifier #1
3. The qualifier needs to say "Amount > = 50,000"
4. Under the default qualifier or the unfiltered qualifier, this would say 100%
