Payments: Build Formulas
If you pay rates based on a formula, you must define the formula for each payment by clicking the row’s Edit Formula (Fx) button and defining the desired formula. Values include:
- System Field: TIC, Salary, OTE (from the People record)
- Percent to Quota: Select the Quota, Quota amount (monthly, quarterly, annual, QTD, YTD (Monthly), YTD (Annual)), and Period.
- Credit Results: Select the Credit Type, Credit amount (monthly, quarterly, annual), and Period.
- Numeric Value: a freeform number field
- Data Field: Amount or Quantity from the deal
- Percent Value: a freeform percent field
- Quota: Select the Quota and the Quota amount (monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Operators: Select from multiply (*), divide, (/), add (+), or subtract (-)
Additionally, you can customize the formula by adding in an advanced formula and/or selecting a new amount field to override the original one set up in the credit rule.
Advance Formula: When building Advanced Formulas, Express will remove the operators from the end of each row and allow you to determine the order of operations in the Advanced Formula textbox. You can group rows together by using parentheses.
NOTE: Best practice when building an advanced formula is to delete what is in the advanced formula textbox and retype your operators from scratch.
Override Box: The override box in the formula simply allows you to credit your reps based on one amount and pay based upon another. By checking the override box, you are overriding the "Amount" you are multiplying against your formula. All currency and decimal fields will display in the drop-down list of options for an override.
NOTE: When using numeric or percent value formulas, there are a certain number of Decimals in Express formulas.
