Sales Manager Role

What a manager can see is determined by two things:

1. If they have a Sales Manager role in Express (Express > Setup > Manager Users)
2. In Salesforce, they can see anyone below them in the Role Hierarchy (Salesforce > Setup > Roles)

The Sales Manager role can be used by not just users set up as managers in Salesforce, but any user who wants to see their subordinate's results (i.e. VPs or Executives).

With that in mind, in Salesforce, if all the managers are assigned the same role then they will be able to see any of the subordinates. For example: AM Professional Services Director has three managers but each of those managers has different subordinates. Those managers will be able to see all subordinates because they “share” the same role.
